Watt En Schlick Fest, a festival in northern Germany right next to the sea, close to Varel, will open its doors for this year’s 11th edition from August 1st until August 3rd. The festival, already being around for over a decade, has had amazing acts on its stages, including Blumentopf, Sophia Kennedy, Alli Neumann, Edwin Rosen, and Pablo Brooks.
This year’s Friday will have amazing artists such as Zaho de Sagazan, JACOTÉNE, Benjamin Amaru, UCHE YARA, and Asha Jefferies perform. On Saturday, you can get excited for artists such as HotWax, bac, NEEVE, Somebody’s Child, and futurebae. The Sunday will have great artists on stage as well, such as Bon Enfant, Zimmer90, lovehead, Madeline Juno, and Skuth. Check out the whole lineup here. Other than the already announced artists, there will be secret acts, so look out for them too!
During time at the festival you can enjoy free water on the entire festival grounds, as well as other beverage options and various food options including vegetarian and vegan ones! The festival can be reached by car, taxi, and even by train via the train station in Varel, from which a public bus can be taken to a bus stop 8 minutes from the festival grounds.
There’s efforts to make the festival more inclusive for disabled people, such as a paved way to the festival grounds, a fixed portal in front of the stage – also suitable for wheelchair users – and the option to borrow hearing protection. Beyond what’s mentioned on their website, the festival offers the option to email the following email address with additional tips, wishes and concerns: thebarrierefrei@wattenschlick.de.
Tickets to access all 3 festival days in one go are sold out, and the same goes for camping tickets. Day tickets to all three days, however, are still available and can be bought here, for each day they cost €95 to €100,50 including shipping costs, don’t miss out!
Also, as this festival is right next to the sea, there’s actually the option to go into the water, if a break from the dancing to all the amazing music is needed! Speaking of amazing music, check out the playlist down below with one song each for all the artists announced for the festival to get to know this year’s festival lineup better.
