After an already successful first day, this year’s edition of Lollapalooza in Berlin went into its second round on Sunday. Less sunny and even rainy at some points, great energy nonetheless, though! All photos from day 2 can be found here.
Our first act of the day was the German artist VICKY. Not only her fans, but also the artist herself had fun during her set. She made sure to give those in attendance a great memory to look back on and was noticeably interactive with them! Following her set, it was time for Alessi Rose. Over the past years, the British popstar gained recognition not only back home, but also internationally. So to no one’s surprise, fans travelled far and wide to see her set.
Noticeably, The Snuts also had international fans in the crowd; one waved a Scottish flag, where the band happens to be from. The band put on a great set! Although it was on a smaller stage, the area in front of it was filled. It left many wondering why they didn’t play on a bigger one. For the German artist Zartmann, it was a hometown show. He was born and raised in Berlin. Family and friends of him and of his band came out to support them. He played on one of the main stages and proved to the Lollapalooza attendees why: a huge crowd sang along to his songs! Like always, he performed his song “meinen die uns”, for which the singer Antonius – whose track it also is – joined him on stage as a surprise.
Next, it was time to catch a bit of the iconic Brazilian singer Anitta’s set. It started raining right when she was about to step on stage, but that didn’t stop her, her dancers, or her fans from having a great time. As soon as Anitta took to the stage, people eagerly put their hands up in the air and cheered her on. The huge applause never wavered throughout the entire show.
New Zealandish superstar Lorde played her show as the sun was about to set. The singer performed in Berlin for the last time in December of last year as part of her Ultrasound world tour. It was great for her fans in the area that she decided to make it back to the city so soon. Unfortunately, the energy of the crowd wasn’t as great as it could have been, most likely because it kept raining throughout big parts of her set. Fortunately, however, people did sing along during her more well-known songs. Fans also visibly lit up when the sun started to come out towards the end of her set. Lorde gave it her all and even came down to the crowd during the last song, ‘Ribs’. She talked about how she hopes we’re “happy these days” and expressed gratitude for being at Lollapalooza.
The last act of the Sunday, closing this year’s edition of Lollapalooza Berlin, was Lewis Capaldi. After having to take a long break starting mid 2023 due to his Tourette’s and to be able to take care of his physical and mental health, he started to slowly play shows again in 2025. This year, he already played and will play even more shows across Ireland and the UK, as well as multiple festivals in mainland Europe, and with that he finally made it to Germany again. His songs still mean as much to people as they did before his break. Fans cried, jumped, laughed, and just were visibly content and grateful to be right there in this moment. In contrast to his rather emotional songs, like usual, Capaldi cracked jokes on stage and even started to hum the momentarily viral song “Gut Genug” by Blumengarten, Kitschkrieg and Shirin David multiple times. At one point, when he sat at the piano, he also acted like he was Shakespeare. It was a fan’s birthday, which he noticed, and so he sang happy birthday to them. Capaldi noted that the first time he played Lollapalooza was in 2018, when he had just signed a record deal and had significantly less of an audience. He expressed his gratitude to be able to play in front of a bigger crowd now. He may or may not have teased that after the summer, a new album is on the horizon, accompanied by more live shows.
Fireworks spanned across the sky above Lollapalooza to celebrate one last time after Capaldi’s set had come to an end. The weekend left festival attendees happy and already looking forward to the festival’s 2027 edition, which will take place on the 17th and 18th of July! Tickets can be bought here already.
