Live Review: Maisie Peters in Ghent

On February 13th Maisie Peters started her The Good Witch Europe tour in Ghent and what a show it was!

Opening for Maisie was Paris Paloma, she came on stage in this beautiful gold dress. Not only did she look angelic, she also sounded angelic. Her voice is so pure and clear and she hits all the high notes. Paris could get the whole crowd quiet, everyone was watching her in awe. After her third song, Tina Hizon, from Maisies band, joined Paris on stage for the rest of the set. When she finished her set a huge applause followed, which was very deserved.

Then it was time for Maisie Peters. The stage was decorated with blown up clouds and letters that spelled ‘Good Witch’. Everyone was singing and screaming along to the songs. Her smile was very contagious, she interacted a lot with the crowd and had a little chat with a fan on the first row before starting her song ‘You’re Just A Boy’. Maisie divided the crowd in two parts and let them each sing a part, she also covered a part of ‘Stick Season’ from Noah Kahan and had the crowd go wild. She introduced her band to the crowd and joked that her guitarist, Joel Peat, recently played guitar at the Superbowl. She moved around a lot on stage and had a lot of energy that washes off on the crowd. People were singing and dancing but some songs also allowed them to let a little tear fall. There’s a good variety between slow and up tempo songs.

The song ‘Blonde’ gave me 2010 vibes in a really good way. I immediately wanted to dance a little. She did 2 encores, with the first one, ‘History Of Men’ everyone put up their flashlights and it lit up the whole room, I got goosebumps. The second encore was ‘You Lost The Breakup’ and was an amazing way to end with a bang!

Conclusion: Maisie Peters put on one hell of a show, it was an absolutely beautiful and magical night. She definitely gained a new fan…. me!
