Festival Review: Superbloom Day 1

This year’s Superbloom Festival in Munich’s iconic Olympiapark was nothing short of magical. As the sun peeked through the clouds on a mild late-summer weekend, thousands of festivalgoers gathered to celebrate music, joy, and togetherness in what became one of the most unforgettable editions of the event to date.

From the very first note, the atmosphere was electric. A gentle breeze floated through the park, where the golden glow of the afternoon sun lit up smiling faces, vibrant outfits, and endless fields of dancing people. It wasn’t just the music, it was the mood. A sense of unity, creativity, and warmth filled the air. Everywhere you looked, people were laughing, singing, hugging, embracing the shared experience of being part of something truly special.

But of course, it was the music that tied it all together.

Post Malone, headlining the main stage on Saturday, delivered a performance that exceeded all expectations. From the moment he stepped onto the stage, the crowd was completely his. With a setlist that spanned his greatest hits and latest releases, Post brought raw emotion, infectious energy, and a genuine connection with his fans. He moved across the stage with ease, at times even stepping down to interact with the audience, high-fiving, taking selfies, and showing a heartfelt appreciation that radiated from every word he spoke. A highlight of the night came when a fan gifted him a personalized FC Bayern Munich jersey, which he proudly held up to a roaring crowd. It was a perfect symbol of the bond between artist and audience, sincere, spontaneous, and unforgettable. Post Malone didn’t just perform; he created memories.

Earlier in the day, Montell Fish captivated the audience in a completely different but equally powerful way. His set felt like stepping into another world: quiet, introspective, deeply emotional. Against the buzzing energy of the festival, Montell carved out a space for reflection, drawing listeners into his intimate sonic universe. His vocals were hauntingly beautiful, his presence understated yet magnetic. You could feel the crowd leaning in, hanging onto every note. It was the kind of performance that doesn’t scream, it whispers, and lingers long after the final chord fades.

One of the most talked-about performances of the day came from RAYE, who brought a stunning blend of strength, vulnerability, and artistry to the stage. Dressed in elegance and performing with undeniable passion, she wowed the audience with her powerhouse vocals and raw emotional delivery. Each song felt like a story, told with authenticity and depth. Her ability to move seamlessly between soulful ballads and fierce pop anthems had the crowd both teary-eyed and dancing  sometimes within the same song. RAYE’s set wasn’t just impressive; it was deeply moving, the kind of performance that marks a true star on the rise.

And then there was Omar Rudberg, whose charisma and energy ignited the stage and crowd alike. From the first beat, he commanded attention with sleek choreography, catchy hooks, and a multilingual charm that reached every corner of the park. But what truly stood out was his passionate fanbase; their presence was loud, loving, and fully engaged. Singing every lyric, waving flags, and screaming his name, they turned Omar’s set into a celebration of connection and community. His performance was joyful, confident, and full of life as an artist fully at home in the spotlight, feeding off the crowd’s energy and giving it right back.

As day turned into night, the entire festival felt like it was glowing not just from stage lights, but from within. Superbloom 2025 wasn’t just about seeing big names or dancing to your favourite songs; it was about feeling something real, surrounded by thousands of others doing the same. It was the kind of day where strangers became friends, music became memories, and the world, for just a little while, felt beautifully in sync. Check out all the photos from Day 1 here!
