Live Review: Bronnie in Amsterdam

British singer songwriter Bronnie was back in the Netherlands for a headline show at Cinetol in Amsterdam and we had the absolute pleasure to review it!

Opening up the night, the Dutch pop rock band GIRLSGIRLSGIRLS took the stage. The band lives by the motto ‘wherever the brothers by choice may roam, you are always invited’, and their live performance managed to embody exactly that. Throughout the set they made sure to engage with the crowd as much as they could, which eventually led to them explaining exactly how they ended up on that stage. Shouting out one of their biggest fans Anne, they made it known that they owed it all to her. The band had previously asked Cinetol to think of them when an artist is in need of an opener, and when Bronnie found herself in such a position, Cinetol suggested GIRLSGIRLSGIRLS to her. Thanks to Anne’s earlier recommendation to Bronnie about the band, it didn’t take her long to say yes. The band’s live performance showed that they absolutely deserved those recommendations and belonged up on that stage.

After a short break, the lights died down again and a beautiful intro chimed through the speakers. Bronnie chose to use a voice note-like track, taking the audience on a short trip through the highlights of Bronnie’s music career so far to interlude her show. Judging by the crowd’s reaction, there’s no doubt that many of them were there to witness most of it throughout the years. When the voice note ended, the crowd welcomed Bronnie back with open arms. From originals to a cover of Katy Perry’s ‘I kissed a girl’, Bronnie made sure her crowd had a fun night out. Thanking her fans for coming to see her and excitedly repeating ‘I can’t believe we’re back!’ throughout the night, it is clear that she knows how she got where she is today and doesn’t take a single second of it for granted. She managed to wrap the audience around her finger and kept the energy at an all time high throughout the night. In return, the crowd sang the words to her songs out loud all night long and eventually got out their flashlights during more acoustic moments.

If you ever find yourself looking for a fun night out when Bronnie is in town, do not waste the opportunity and go check her out yourself! Bronnie’s shows are a fun night guaranteed.
