On Wednesday, September 20th, Demob Happy played a sold out show in Amsterdam. The Upstairs at Melkweg was packed. It had been five years since the band last came to our country, so the crowd was very excited and couldn’t wait for the concert to start.
The band did not have a support act, so at 9pm it immediately was time for Demob Happy to take the stage. As the first few notes started playing, the crowd was already moving. The energy was up and did not go down until the show ended. The English alternative rock band owned the stage and had the greatest time. Singer Matthew Marcantonio told everyone a thousand times how good it was to be back. The setlist was filled with bangers, ranging from their older songs to the newly released ‘Sweet & Sour America’.
None of the songs got the crowd to stand still. Dancing, jumping, and even moshing, the whole venue was moving the entire time.
‘We’ve been Demob Happy, you’ve been fucking amazing, and see you next time!’
The band still has two weeks of European shows left on this tour. Even if you have never heard of them before, they will give you a nice night out filled with guitar riffs and catchy tunes. Check out if they are coming near you here!
