It’s a Tuesday evening when Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes strike down in Tilburg for their sold-out show at 013. Tonight, February 27, is the closing night of the European leg of the Dark Rainbow World Tour, and what a night it was!
A few minutes after 9 pm Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes graced the stage. They start their set with ‘Can I Take You Home’, which immediately has the crowd going crazy. Not only is Frank’s stage presence absolutely insane, he also connects with the crowd a lot. From making hearts and blowing kisses to people in the room, to cracking jokes left and right. He’s visibly enjoying himself and the smile on the front man’s face could light up the room by itself.
During ‘Wild Flowers’ Franks requests the biggest mosh pit the venue has ever seen, a mosh pit that is ‘for the ladies and the ladies only’, and proceeds to give a speech about how this pit is a safe space for everyone who’s female or non-binary. While he gives this speech, the women start to make their way into the middle to form a pit. By the time the chorus of the song arrives, they are going crazy.
Towards the end of the show, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes tone it down for a little bit. They continue with ‘Brambles’, where they ask the crowd to pick a dancing partner. As the crowd starts to dance, the bandmates twirl each other around on stage. During ‘End Up Suffering’, the last song before the encore, the entire room lights up with flashlights and lighters.
The crowd-surfing action started as soon as the second song of the set started, and didn’t stop until the very last minute, at one point someone was even crowd-surfing in the circle pit. The energy is great throughout the entire set, but especially hits such as ‘Man Of The Hour’ and ‘Lullaby’ in their encore make this a perfect ending to their Dark Rainbow World Tour.
