Who doesn’t love discovering new bands that are confident, unique, and queer-fronted? Today’s spotlight shines on ARXX, a duo that combines all of the above. This band should definitely be on your radar when it comes to special sounds and catchy lyrics. Join us to find out more about ARXX!
Founded in 2017 in Brighton, ARXX has been creating their own unique sound ever since. Their self-description, “Imagine Taylor Swift if she only ever listened to Nirvana,” is perhaps the closest you can get to an accurate description. However, limiting them to just one genre wouldn’t do them justice. Both members provide vocals for the band, with Hannah Pidduck also playing guitar and Clara Townsend on drums.

Their first song, ‘Stuck On You,’ was released over six years ago in February of 2018. Since then, they have been continuously releasing music, including their most successful song to date, ‘Ride Or Die.’ In March 2023, fans finally got to enjoy the debut album by the queer duo: Ride Or Die features 12 tracks that are catchy and unique while fitting perfectly into the band’s signature sound. Their upcoming second album, Good Boy, has been announced for October 4th, with the first singles, ‘Crying In The Carwash,’ ‘Good Boy,’ and ‘Trouble,’ already available. If these singles are any indication of what the full album will sound like, we can’t wait to hear the rest of the songs.
In April and May of 2024, ARXX supported Fletcher on the European leg of her ‘In Search Of The Antidote Tour,’ which gave them a boost, following their fanbase all over Europe. If you’d like to see them live, you’re in luck—they’re returning for a headline tour in October and November. A few shows have already sold out, and others are selling fast, so don’t wait too long to grab your tickets. All show dates and ticket information can be found here.
ARXX provides the perfect soundtrack for your main character moments. Their music matches the spirit of the current music scene while being unapologetically unique. If you’re searching for a queer band with a refreshing sound to add to your playlist, look no further—ARXX is exactly what you’ve been looking for.
