Metalcore is more popular than ever; within the landscape of uprising bands, four young men are slowly but surely working their way into the scene. If you’ve been waiting for a band to discover before they get big, this surely is your time to shine. Are you ready for powerful riffs and melodies that you won’t be able to forget any time soon? Welcome to the spotlight: Into Ashes!
The band was founded in 2016 in Wolfsburg, Germany and originally started as a cover band. However, it did not take long until Felix (Vocals & Guitar), Lukas (Guitar), Merten (Drums) and Joel felt inspired to write their own songs as well and bring them to the stages of local festivals. While the gigs might be small, the band brings enough energy and passion for an entire stadium. It is no surprise that those who have seen them live were impatiently awaiting a release. While their first EP Lost in Mind was already written, the band did not yet have the financial means to produce and release it.
What might sound discouraging to most, did not stop Into Ashes from doing their best to get their music into the world. In December 2022, their first songs ‘Bullet’ and ‘Stranger’ were uploaded as a Mini-EP The Live Session. Videos of both songs were also posted on YouTube, giving their fans a first chance to enjoy their songs from home as well.
By now, Into Ashes are a well-loved part of the line-ups of local gigs in their hometown Wolfsburg and the surrounding region.
On 25 January 2024, the long-anticipated EP Lost in Mind was finally released. Six songs, and the guys do what they do best: Metalcore with melodies that will remain stuck in your head, heavy riffs and powerful drums. Lyrically, the band allows themselves to be vulnerable and deals with topics of emotional pain and mental struggles.
The EP got widely positive feedback, one of their tracks even made it to a local radio station, but the band won’t take this as an excuse to rest and lie low; they are already working on new music and the festival summer is approaching, most likely giving their fans a few opportunities to see them live again. On Social Media, the band not only gives their audience a peek behind the scenes, they also make it obvious how much they appreciate the people who take the time to support their music.
Into Ashes are an incredibly talented band and combine the things most metalheads love about the genre: power in the melodies, honesty in the lyrics. Give them a listen and keep an eye out for them, we know how fast a band can explode nowadays, chances are this is a candidate for the next viral metalcore group!
