Spotlight: Isaac Anderson

Born and raised in Nottingham, UK, Isaac Anderson embarked on his musical journey early and the love for performing came at a young age. He went from writing songs in his childhood bedroom to touring Europe with his own sold-out headline tour. Inspired by artists such as Hozier, Adele and Sam Fender, Isaac writes indie-pop songs with elements of rock, folk and soul. He has toured the world as a guitarist for Louis Tomlinson and those who were not familiar with Isaac prior to attending one of those shows sure were after seeing him on stage. With his amazing stage presence and feel for the music, he stands out on stage and has been able to create a fanbase on his own.

Isaac kicked off his solo career in 2020 and has since then released two EPs and an album. Love in Conversation is his first EP, which was released after the pandemic forced him to stay in and face his fears of the unknown. He eventually pushed through his confidence issues and self-doubt. After all, the heartfelt EP was released in 2021, showing off Isaacs songwriting skills that invites his listeners to feel an emotional connection.

The next EP to be released was Fingers Crossed, an EP written across several continents while travelling the world on tour with Louis Tomlinson. The EP features songs such as ‘Hanging Up’ and ‘This Could Be Paradise’ that have collectively received over a million streams on Spotify. Isaac himself said that it is an EP about “heartache, hope and existential dread” and blindly hoping that everything will work out. He seems to believe in honest and genuine songwriting, which easily leads to getting steered into the emotions he intends his listeners to feel while listening to his songs.

A few months after the release of his second EP, Isaac went on his first headline tour, with a total of over 3000 tickets being sold and every show being sold out. The tour consisted of 13 shows across France, Belgium, Germany, Czechia, the Netherlands, and Denmark.

2023 was the year of Isaac’s debut album Survived My Early Twenties. Isaac dedicates his title and opening track to the people in their twenties that are stumbling through life, scared of not knowing what’s next. The album consists of songs that were turned from self-doubt into sincere lyrics, and you get to see glimpses of Isaac in the entirety of the album. The record closes with ‘Goodnight Darling’, a song about setting boundaries and saying goodbye to a person that is not good for you. Isaac got to show off his first album and ended 2023 with another headline tour with ten shows across seven countries.

Isaac Anderson is an artist that is not scared of expressing his true feelings, and he demonstrates clear evidence of being an amazing musician. If you’re looking for an artist that writes deep and relatable songs, Isaac is definitely someone you should check out. His early career releases and his newest single ‘Don’t Go’ are strong indications that we have much to anticipate in the future. He is currently on tour supporting The Academic until April 15th.
