On April 14th Singer-songwriter MEGA found her way to Amsterdam for her ‘I Am Enough’ tour. Although the queues outside the venue didn’t represent it, the venue hall slowly filled up with fans. An hour and a fairly crowded venue later, the British-Ugandan singer was ready to start tonight’s show.
The evening opened with ‘Moment For You’ playing over the speakers as she walked on stage. The first notes of the song silence the entire crowd as she enthralled them with her strong vocals and enchanting melodies.
She introduced guitarist and producer Ed Riches early on, thanking the crowd before moving into ‘If Not My Heart’ and ‘Let Me Let U Go’. The tone of the evening was open and warm, with light humour about her height and the difficulty of finding her on social media adding familiarity. ‘Smile’ followed with an easy groove that had the crowd swaying together, setting the rhythm.
MEGA stepped off the stage and into the audience to perform ‘Be Good, Be Kind’. The song, inspired by Caroline Flack and her final message on Instagram, carried a quiet emotional weight. Surrounded by the crowd, the intimacy between artist and audience turned the performance into something deeply human.

Before introducing ‘Future Me’ she encouraged the audience to speak to each other, filling the room with chatter and laughter before sharing the story behind the song. Losing her voice years earlier and imagining a future where she could sing again gave the track a sense of hope and self belief. The transition into ‘All Day Long’ felt effortless, while ‘Garden’ allowed Ed Riches, the guitarist, to shine with a rich and expressive solo.
Throughout the night, her storytelling stood out as much as her voice. Each song felt tied to a moment of vulnerability, self realisation or empowerment. Songs like ‘Change’, created as the first song in the ‘I Am Enough’ project (after being made to feel otherwise by her previous management) as well as ‘Don’t Get Too Close’ and ‘Learning To Trust Myself’ carried these messages forward. The latter touching on the loss of her father and the longing tied to that absence. The crowd responded by waving their arms, singing and dancing along.
After stating that she would “rather fail as myself than succeed as someone else”, ‘Fail As Me’ showed a clear reflection of her identity as an artist with a great sense of purpose.
Energy lifted again as she had the crowd shout ‘I Am Enough’ back at her before performing the title track. There was a playful moment as she quizzed the audience on her social media handle, with mixed success. Later on, ‘Box Of Regrets’ had the crowd’s arms swaying in the air.
‘Chariot’, described as the first song written after her voice returned, brought clapping and singing along, a sign of how fully the audience had embraced the performance. She closed with ‘My Bones’, presenting it as a summary of the entire project, tying together the themes that had run through the evening.
