Song Review: ‘Moved Around You’ by JESSIA

JESSIA is keeping the momentum going. On March 28th she released her newest single, ‘Moved Around You’, which combines her signature catchy pop sound with honest storytelling.

Since her viral hit ‘I’m Not Pretty’ in 2021, JESSIA has built a career on making music that feels personal yet relatable. This song once again proves that she is in full control of her sound, and this new track is another step forward in her music career.

‘Moved Around You’ captures the feeling of falling too hard for someone who doesn’t feel the same. The song starts with a soft, guitar-driven melody, pulling listeners into its vulnerable tone. As it builds, layers of synths and percussion slowly come in, giving the track more energy without taking away from the emotion. JESSIA’s voice moves effortlessly between quiet, almost spoken verses and a soaring, heart-wrenching chorus, making the emotion hit even harder.

The lyrics are straightforward but powerful. Lines like And just kept me wishing, had me wrapped around your finger and I hated it ” paint a clear picture of realizing too late that you were never on equal ground. But instead of just feeling sorry for herself, JESSIA shifts the focus. The song isn’t just about heartbreak; it’s about owning your feelings and finding strength in the fact that you cared at all. “I’m not embarrassed or stupid for falling apart, I think it’s beautiful I let myself fall this hard”.

With this release, JESSIA proves once again why people connect with her music. She’s honest, she’s real, and she knows how to turn messy emotions into songs that stick with you. If this is any sign of what’s next, she’s just getting started.
