Song Review: ‘Lasting Effects’ by Avery Lynch

On the 6th of June, 2025, Avery Lynch released her brand new single ‘Lasting Effects’, setting the stage for her next musical chapter.

The Los Angeles-based singer is known for her heartfelt piano-based songs and raw lyrics, and this newest record showcases these talents exactly: a beautiful track based around a mellow piano composition, with a strong focus on the lyrics and vocals.

The song deals with the aftermath of a breakup. It’s an empowering song about not settling for someone who doesn’t love you right, not grieving that false love, but instead moving forward to find the right person. Avery shares this very intimate and emotional experience of herself while simultaneously turning this moment into an empowering song for the audience to relate to and maybe even learn from.

‘Lasting Effects’ is exactly about that: inspiring people and leaving a lingering effect that could help the listener understand to never settle for someone who doesn’t appreciate their worth.

Lines like “You might have been right […],  how I’ll never find someone like you” and “You know I think my hair looks good short” show how Avery grew above that false love and gained confidence back after the breakup. The second verse talks about how Avery started believing the way her ex-partner saw her, instead of seeing her own worth and beauty as a person (“I hate to admit it, I also believed in whatever I was in your eyes”). Meanwhile, in the chorus she sings about all the things she sees and does now that they broke up, things she used to like about her before, calling these things the “Lasting Effects“ of the ended relationship.

Avery Lynch should definitely be on your artist radar. With captivating, raw lyrics and beautifully produced tracks, she is gaining a huge fan base quickly. And who knows, maybe there is another project coming sooner than you think…
