Have you been waiting for that yearning, longing bittersweet summer song that gives off ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ vibes and reminds you of a day on the beach with a summer fling? Look no further, Pedro Santos’ ‘Someone I Don’t Know’ is exactly what you’ve been craving!
After rising to fame with boyband Here At Last, the Portuguese born, UK based singer-songwriter is now off on a solo adventure with his debut single ‘Someone I Don’t Know’, released June 6th.

The pop track – with a subtle hint of indie-rock on the side – has ticked off all the boxes needed to become a timeless classic: With a composition of soft guitar strings and soothing, raspy vocals, ‘Someone I Don’t Know’ deals with a topic known to all, as it explores the ache of loneliness and a missing emotional connection.
Pedro wrote the song when he “felt like even in a crowd I was alone. It’s about longing for a partner who helps you become the best version of yourself”. Whilst most people claim that one has to become the best version of themselves before heading towards a relationship, the singer disagrees. “I strongly feel like with the right person, they can help you understand things about yourself that you never understood”, he said, whilst singing about how all of his friends have started families whilst he’s still waiting for the one to make that meaningful connection with he so deeply misses.
The honest and heartfelt introduction to his solo career is meant to make the audience understand how Pedro has felt for a long time. “I thought it was a good way of starting the story of what I had been feeling ever since I began writing for this project”, the 23 year old explained.
To create and teleport the melancholy that can be heart and felt throughout the entirety of ‘Someone I Don’t Know’, Pedro has had help of some industry hotshots and legends: The track has been mixed by Grammy Award winner Dan Grech who has worked with the likes of Dua Lipa and Liam Gallagher.
With great vocals, a good understanding of what today’s younger generations are yearning for, an ever so loyal and growing fanbase and festival appearances lined up – including All Points East in August – Pedro has great potential to become the next big pop sensation.
