With the vampiric topic of this song, you might wonder – did we move Halloween to February this year? On February 28th, 2025, Haiden Henderson released his new song ‘lovesucker’, about a vampiric lover and his longing for her. Haiden had built the hype for this song over the past few months, classic Haiden-style, on his social media pages and tour as an opener for Emei. After all this song teasing, fans are excited for it to be out finally!

Starting with abstract staccato sounds, the song immediately sets a mysterious vibe. Then, Henderson’s smooth voice comes in. His singing starts low and then rises as he advances towards the chorus, building the mystery and anticipation. In the pre-chorus, it becomes clear that the mystery lady is a vampire: “She’s infecting my mind, taking over. Her grip is like a vice, blood is cold. She’s pretty by design, pulls me closer. She sees me as food, I know that I’m screwed.”
The chorus is immensely catchy, bound to get stuck in your head as the beat grows stronger, like Henderson’s voice. The bridge to the song is reminiscent of old-school Shawn Mendes songs, with the same few lines repeated but getting stronger with every repetition, giving the listener a nostalgic vibe. The song then kicks into a final chorus: “My baby is a monster, a hunter, but I’m not afraid.” Then, Henderson’s voice fades out with the final lyrics “My baby is a lovesucker (ooh-ooh), but she loves me like no other (ooh-ooh)” echoing in the distance, leaving you wanting more.
So, we should move Halloween to February – for Haiden Henderson! We cannot wait for him to return to Europe on his tour someday soon. In the meantime, watch the lyric video for ‘lovesucker’ here.
