BSS, also known as BooSeokSoon, is a dynamic subunit of the K-pop powerhouse SEVENTEEN, featuring members Seungkwan, DK, and Hoshi. Celebrated for their high-energy performances and uplifting music, BSS has returned with their second EP, TELEPARTY, released on January 8th, 2025.
The album comprises three tracks: ‘청바지 (CBZ [Prime Time])’, ‘Happy Alone’, and ‘사랑노래 (Love Song)’. The title TELEPARTY blends the words ‘telepathy’ and ‘party,’ reflecting the unit’s mission to connect with listeners and share joyful moments while encouraging them to enjoy life’s precious, everyday moments.

The lead single, ‘청바지 (CBZ [Prime Time])’, features an infectious mix of jazz and country influences. Its vibrant energy is highlighted by lyrics that inspire listeners to live authentically and embrace the present. The accompanying music video creatively depicts the members overcoming stressful situations, ultimately advocating that youthfulness is a mindset rather than an age.
The second track, ‘Happy Alone’, highlights life’s simple pleasures, especially the joy of finishing work for the day. With an irresistibly catchy synth-driven beat, the song is uplifted by standout vocals. DK once again proves his vocal skills, effortlessly hitting high notes that dominate the track. And who can resist singing along to the post-chorus? “I’m happy, happy, happy, happy alone”. The closing song, ‘사랑노래 (Love Song)’, takes a nostalgic dive into early 2000s R&B, characterised by a slower tempo and heartfelt piano melodies. This ballad showcases the unit’s vocal versatility, with all three members delivering deeply emotive performances. The lyrics explore themes of love and longing, adding a reflective and intimate layer to the album.
TELEPARTY showcases BSS’s knack for blending positivity with relatability. As self-proclaimed ambassadors of youth, BSS share their philosophy: “Youth is knowing how to enjoy life in the present. If you can’t do that, you’re not youthful, even if you’re young.” While the album might be short, with only three songs, it is concise and impactful and leaves listeners eager for more. This once more defines BSS’s position as a beacon of joy and vibrancy in the K-pop scene.
