THE MEZZ are a UK based indie rock band from Oxford. The band consists of members Charlie, Ben, Joe and Michael. If you’re a fan of the Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes, THE MEZZ might become your new favourite band. Their music is a fascinating blend of intriguing lyrics, a ‘dance around your room’ melody and vocals to die for. THE MEZZ’s music gives off the colours of the sunset: orange, yellow and purple. You might know them from their songs ‘Chasing Love’, ‘Little Renegades’ and ‘Lipstick Adderall’.
‘Bridges’, THE MEZZ’s most recent release, is a song filled with hope and resilience. This song carries us on a journey through building self-esteem despite outside pressures. It carries an air of determination and ambition that I admire greatly. A line that really stands out is “I got to train myself to dream out loud again” as it is a sentiment most of us can relate to and I think we should all take on board especially as we are growing up in the world. ‘Bridges’ is filled with affirmations we all need, such as “gonna tell myself I’m gonna be ok”. Listening to ‘Bridges’ alone makes me want to go and buy tickets to see THE MEZZ live. It’s a song that would be healing to sing in a crowd at a live show and would make you feel on top of the world. ‘Bridges’ is a song that fits on all your uplifting and inspiring playlists. I know THE MEZZ’s songs are going on all my playlists- especially ‘Bridges’.
