After over six months with no new solo music, Cloudy June is finally making a comeback: she dropped her new song ‘Crazy Woman’ on June 28th.
Everyone who attended her tour knows that they are in for a banger: the alternative pop artist from Berlin had already played the unreleased song on her ‘We’re all mad here’ tour in March and April this year. The expectations for this song were high, but the result certainly did not disappoint.
On her tour she said about the song “Sometimes as a woman you will voice your valid thoughts and feelings and some men will make you feel like you’re crazy for that”. The lyrics of her new single are even more direct than that: “Behind every crazy woman, there’s a man who made her cry.”
Even though Cloudy June has never shied away from voicing her thoughts and feelings in her songs, the lyrics of ‘Crazy Woman’ are even more straightforward than her previous songs; you can tell there have been real events and emotions that have influenced the writing of this song.
Musically speaking, ‘Crazy Woman’ is a catchy pop song with a danceable and fast-paced instrumental.
Cloudy June has returned with her best song so far; both the music and the lyrics represent perfectly who she is and what she stands for. ‘Crazy Woman’ is the hymn for female empowerment our world needs right now.
