No social media, a cottage in Denmark and some quality time with friends. What sounds like the perfect vacation to some is also the origin story of Into Ashes’ newest singles. On May 28th, the independent metalcore band from Germany came out with their song ‘Feel Again’.
The lyrics deal with the constant search for quick dopamine through doomscrolling and spending hours behind a screen; a feeling to which most people can probably relate. In combination with their unique yet catchy sound, Into Ashes create a song that allows you to spend a few minutes in a slowed down atmosphere, disconnected from the overwhelming dynamic of a digitalised life.

As per usual, the band dares to reflect their thoughts not only in the lyrics but also in the sound. Slower sections are followed by heavier parts, creating an ideal balance. Additionally, the music video allows us to take a peek at the creation process of the song, which creates a personal atmosphere that takes you further into the ambience of the song itself.
The single is however not a stand alone. On June 25th, Into Ashes released ‘Break Yourself’, a thematic follow up to their song ‘Breaking in Silence’ which we have covered previously. Once again, the lyrics deal with mental struggles, though this time through a different perspective. ‘Break Yourself’ discusses the struggles and challenges of supporting a loved one through hard times. It shows that Into Ashes are not scared to touch on hard topics, which makes their songs valuable productions, not only for the fans of good music but for anyone who can relate to the topics discussed.
Do not miss the release of ‘Break Yourself’ if you crave some time to feel, think and enjoy metalcore sound with honest lyrics. In the meantime, enjoy their latest song ‘Feel Again’.
