After a recent and quite surprising feature in one of Bring Me The Horizon’s new songs, AURORA is back with a single called ‘To Be Alright,’ just before her full-length album that is out now.
In her recent social media posts, AURORA discloses lyrics to the song, setting the tone: “I know I belong here on earth, But I long to be lifted up.”
The opening line, accompanied by an upbeat rhythm and hovering synths, pulls you right into the singer’s recognizable universe.
The lyrics speak to the words of a troubled soul who’s full of hope and love.
As the song continues, AURORA’s vocals progressively feel like you are floating higher and higher. The chorus blends perfectly and seamlessly with the structure of the song, leading into a bridge full of her signature gentle yet fierce vocals.
“How I hunger for touch. How could you say that I love too much? I don’t want to fight, I just want to feel alright”.
Overall, and in a very appreciative familiarity, this single feels like crossing paths with a bright ancient spirit ready to make you see the wonders of the world. The lyrics strike a perfect balance of hope and envy, a longing for relief, and the ability to feel one’s emotions unapologetically, especially love.‘To Be Alright’ is the last single , with AURORA’s album What Happened To The Earth out today. With a new album also comes a tour, which will start with a one-off show in Dublin on June 26th, and then continue from Milan starting September 18th. You can find all the dates and buy tickets here.
