Rising star Myles Smith just released another one of his beautiful songs. He’s been taking over the world’s hearts with his masterpieces for a little while now, and on August 23rd, 2024, he’s done it again with his newest song, ‘Wait for You’.
Myles Smith is truly one of the most talented rising musicians of our time right now, and no matter which songs he puts out, they never fail to make you feel every single emotion.
‘Wait for You’ is no exception. The song has a beautiful melody that builds up its strength and takes up pace towards the end. The musician has this stunning talent to layer his harmonies in a way that makes listening to the song feel like it’s a first time experience all over again, no matter how many times you’ve actually listened to the song already.
Another very special thing is how uplifting the song feels. While the lyrics carry a rather heavy topic, it is very positive nonetheless, and the melody supports that and feels very inspiring.
Speaking of lyrics; Myles Smith manages to write a beautiful song about how if you’re struggling, you won’t ever be alone. Right at the beginning he sings “See you walking down the road, but you don’t have to walk alone”, which implies that no matter what you’re going through, Smith has been through similar things and won’t let you deal with it by yourself. Which, in all honesty, is something everyone should remember. There will always be someone who will help you through hard times.
Continuing this idea in the pre-chorus, Smith sings “It’s hard to see it, but I promise there’s a light” and that just emphasizes that no matter how difficult things get, you will come out stronger on the other side. Expressing that support, the chorus explains how he’ll always be there, until it has gotten better and not just leave you to fight those battles alone: “I see you fightin’ those demons inside. I will wait for you, I will wait for you. Till the light in your eyes reappears, I’ll be here by your side.”
The bridge of the song is an important reminder that everyone should hear and a beautiful way to end the song: “Don’t let the words in your head ever drown you out. Don’t let the weight of the world ever bring you down. Keep fighting your demons, I know you can make it out. I hope that one day you can see how I see you now.”
All in all, the song is an inspiring piece of art that uplifts you within minutes and will truly make you feel less alone. No matter how much you are struggling, there will always be someone willing to listen and help you through it.
