What to expect from Liana Flores’ debut album

The British-Brazilian artist, Liana Flores, has announced what she considers to be her greatest achievement to date: her new album Flower Of The Soul, which will be released on June 28th.

Known for her unique style that combines influences from British folk, classic jazz, and Brazilian bossa nova, she began her musical career on YouTube under the name “Ukulili.” From there, she steadily grew. Her works have received praise for their introspective style and soft melodies, evoking a dreamy and melancholic sensation. Liana Flores’ music is characterized by an eclectic mix of genres and styles. Her lyrics are often personal and evocative, exploring themes of love, loss, and self-reflection.

Flores pays special attention to making her music fresh yet timeless, ensuring it can resonate with listeners at any point in the future. At a press conference organized by 1824, which we had the pleasure of attending, Liana Flores remarked that what is now consumed as traditional jazz was once pop music in its time and remains present, because it evokes a universal feeling. This is what she seeks to achieve with her new album.

Flores faces daily obstacles common to small artists, such as self-promotion, collaboration with other artists, and even performing, which is challenging for her due to her introverted personality. While she is a perfectionist and works alone when composing and creating music, she collaborates with a team when creating music videos, resulting in a dynamic and productive relationship. Her music videos are inspired by films from the 60s and 70s, Tim Burton’s aesthetics and stories, and even pop culture gems like Twilight. Through these videos, Flores aims to convey a sense of immersion and transformation using dark inspiration.

Flower Of The Soul consists of 11 tracks, including ‘Nightvisions’ and ‘I wish for the rain,’ which are already available. Her love for nature, combined with her various influences, and her sweet yet strong voice with a touch of dark mystery, make these tracks distinctly recognizable as Liana Flores’ songs.

This might be the first time you hear her name, but it’s not the first time you’ve heard her music. Her song ‘Rises The Moon’ achieved great success, gaining significant traction on social media after its release in 2019. Don’t miss her new album, Flower Of The Soul, if you want to be the one to say, “Hey, this is a Liana Flores song!” when her tracks go viral again this summer.
